01 | PARACAS, ICA – PERU

That feeling of being in the middle of nowhere and at the center of everything.

Paracas National Reserve amazes and captivates from the very beginning. Without a doubt, Mendieta Beach, located 22 km from the Santo Domingo checkpoint, is one of the most beautiful in the reserve. Its grandeur and difficult access make it even more stunning. Moreover, the route that leads to this beach is unparalleled. The rock formations seen along the way hold a history of millions of years. If these layers of earth could speak, can you imagine all they could tell us? They say that millions of years ago, Paracas was not located at 14° below the Equatorial Line, but at 60° near the current Arctic Circle, and while much of what is now Peruvian territory was underwater, that place had a jungle environment. The fossils of tropical plants discovered at La Mina Beach confirm it.
